PostSubject: Your first race - the preparation and start   Fri 12 Aug 2011 - 17:16

1st INTRODUCTION

Each athlete's career is not composed exclusively of maximum effort after the starting signal, or after the whistle starting the match. In addition, even in the majority, life is a tedious training athlete. In addition, each athlete wears a lot of formal requirements to be met before the start. Must be prescribed sneakers, not too long skis (though never both things at once), properly attached to the T-shirts starting number, successfully pass doping tests, if the judges are not resorting to it, etc. etc.

Similarly, in simracingu, but fortunately here the blood is not collected for testing. Above the track before the green light to give a signal to start the race, each driver has their hands full usually a few days earlier.

Your career starts with "paperwork". No, unfortunately. The larger the organization simracingowa, you want to be a member, the generally higher level of bureaucracy. For sure you will have to register on the online forum of the organization. Then somehow volunteer and take part in the league to create a racing team or join an existing one, often also perform a "painting" of your car (skin) by the administrator assigned to you by the league starting number. It is possible that you will need to demonstrate appropriate skills driving (some kind of pass the exam) to receive a license to take off. This kind of preliminary steps may be in some organizations and leagues quite a bit. So the first thing you have to be interested in starting his racing career, must know the requirements and procedures which apply in the league. Read about it on the website of your league - there are sure to find a tutorial or two (sometimes both), describing in detail what you should do before you can start in his first race.

When you get off right now the administrator of the league and add your name or you will be added to the list starting your first race, waiting for you next several attractions. In the beginning, of course, you will need to practice driving on a track where the race will take place. Depending on the league will have it from several days to several weeks. Then you will need to prepare your computer, Internet access, a room where you drive, and finally himself to seamlessly play the race. Finally, comes a moment in which you connect to the server. After that, everything will run very fast and should know how to keep in any situation - from the qualifying session, which is governed by certain rules, through a warm-up, and start formation lap.

All of these elements we describe in this chapter and say what you should remember that this whole procedure went for you as easily.

Chapter is aimed at beginners simracerów, since most of the issues discussed here for the experienced player is daily bread. It may be even that adept simracingu and some of this information will seem trivial, but - as practice shows - adept adept uneven, and what for one is obvious, another could cause difficulty. So I went out with the assumption that it is better to write too much than too little because of the ignorance of the novice driver is often not only suffers himself but also others.

Some of the advice contained herein relate to the driving circuit, such as directions to the first corner after the start. I need to calm down at this point that the council shall operate under the principle of "easier said than done," and sometimes even experienced drivers make mistakes - we all commit them. For such advice is not, however, is that you became the champion by reading the steering wheel (impossible) but simply that, you know what dangers are upon you czychać and how you can possibly get out of difficult situations. Certainly not remember everything (anyway, here you will not find "everything" but only a few basic things) and perhaps for the first time, not all will succeed - it's completely normal!

In our description we will use the conventional abbreviations and concepts simracingu Polish-and English-speaking. All gathered in the Glossary at the end of this chapter. If you do not understand what is a term or abbreviation, check the glossary.

2nd LEAGUE RULES

In the world there are many "institutions" involved in the organization of motor racing. The most famous, at least in Europe, the FIA (Federation Internationale de l'Automobile). This organization conducts championships in several racing series. Each series is governed by the rules,'s written in detail in the regulations. Some provisions are included in the joint (General) Regulations, such as the International Sporting Code (along with many attachments). In addition, each series has its own rules or more detailed rules. For example, for Formula 1 are published annually and the Sporting Regulations Technical Regulations. Both, in 2007, contained a total of 80 pages, but you need to know that they are written in language, we say, "pseudoprawniczym" - in a similar way laws are written, and such technical standards. Regulations are therefore very concise and practical understanding of the effects which can sometimes even a single sentence of the Rules requires a moment's thought, and to translate them into simple language usually need a lot more than one sentence.

All in all racing teams have to read, understand and strictly observe the provisions of really thick pile. We will not dwell in detail why this is so, but it is not difficult to guess that the true breadth regulations is aimed at maintaining absolute order, as during the race itself directly translates into safety. If you are interested I encourage you to read the above rules and regulations (available on the official website of the FIA).

As for SIMRACING, differences in relation to the real races are two. The first is for the benefit of the driver - simracingowych leagues rules are usually shorter and the sky does not need years of study and the staff of eggheads to understand and remember them. The second difference - this time against the driver - is that if a real racing driver is only interested in that part of the legislation, which relates directly to his work (plus general information of the other "fields"), it falls on simracera all the rules of the league.

After word entry time for the most important and common to simracingu and true account of race. Well, breaking the rules results in penalties. What is true in any of the leagues that I know no one will punish simracingowych driver fined (as in real races), but the penalty in well-organized sports leagues are used (and mercilessly!), And especially "gifted" individual may be deprived of his license to take-offs and even get a lifetime ban on the server of the organization simracingowej. So it is nothing to worry about and the result is an essential application. Before his first start (and if necessary later), read all the rules, while trying to understand exactly what each entry means in practice. Certain provisions will be for the obvious fan of motor sports, such as rules on qualification for the race. Others, if you have not had contact with simracingiem may seem incomprehensible. Often they result simply from the specific environment which is the internet, or shortcomings in the simulator which uses a given league. In order not to be groundless, take for example one such "vague" and seemingly unnecessary points Polish organization SimRacingPL Rules:

The simulator used in the league includes a number of errors and joining the league, each participant agrees to this.

Speech-grass, probably thought? OK, I agree, what the hell - this recipe is about anything, so I can easily agree. But are you sure? In practice this means the Rules section for you so much:

If the result of an error in the game, commit an "offense", it could be interpreted to my detriment, that is so, if I had, by his own ineptitude or gapiostwa, he committed this offense.

There is a difference, right? Perhaps this point in the original regulations should read more clearly, but you can not control the content of rules, so you better read closely. I give this example just because it occurred several times in this situation is the organization that the "victim" of error in the simulator (after you accept the Rules!) Karczemną instituted a row when it was fined a standard penalty that applies in the case of intentional misconduct of the driver. So, as you can see, even this kind of question-grass is important to you. In passing, saying, this provision is a necessary evil, but does not result in any way with the meanness and malice league organizers. The point is that in many cases, the server side can not be distinguished from the fault of the driver's violation of the offense as a result of an error in the simulator. Therefore it is necessary to punish one measure.

If after reading the rules you have any doubts, it's definitely better to ask senior colleagues to interpret the writing rather than appear on the server without having too much idea what to do and when and what and when not to do. When planning your adventure with the league simracingiem remember that during the race will not be time to learn the rules and your ignorance will be an obstacle for others in the race, it can also result in an accident. In this situation, first you will be punished by the judges and no one will listen to excuse ignorance of the rules, and secondly by the injured player you will have your big grudge. "Grabisz" So I double and many are already convinced that there really is more profitable to spend one or two evenings to understand the rules, than to start your career or get an opinion zabijaki Lamer, which must avoid a wide berth on the track.

If someone too scared my warnings, I can reassure that the vast majority of cases, no major problems with new drivers in the league. These cautions, so I address mainly those exceptional people who, for obvious reasons you have in your nose all the manners and rules prevailing in the "company" is any organization which simracingowa. Racetrack (even virtual, in simracingu) is a very inappropriate place to promote anarchy, and warn that any of its manifestations in the leagues are well organized without further ado liquidated by the administrators.

3rd TRAINING

Every self-respecting yourself and your colleagues before the race simracer devotes a certain amount of time to prepare for it. The thing is that on race day to have properly prepared your car and know how over it without much effort to reign. We will give general advice useful in training before the race.

3.1 Types of training

Early in his career, the first training before the race will take place offline. Before you show up on your server, your horse must be safe, that is, you probably drive a car. For safety, you should therefore take on this certainty going around the track yourself, not live in an environment of drivers - your fellow league.

Workouts begin by learning the track. Covering every corner, think about whether you use the entire width of the track, ie, if you go after the best line. You can with the use of replay (replay) - if you see that your car is strangely wanders around the track, enter the track in turn means, etc., you will surely lose this much precious time. When you already know the best line is on each successive lap, try to brake a little later, until you feel the limit beyond which no longer can control the car. Learn where it is (for you), this boundary from the next lap and try to dohamowywać as close to it. The same applies to the output of each turn. Try to add the gas earlier and earlier, and - again - find the limit of their capabilities or car. When you run out of ideas where you can go better, you can pre (!) Recognize that met on the track as far as you let your skills.

Another kind of training to which especially in the beginning of a career should be firmly applied, is to train the full stint. Short race goes on without stopping (unless it enforces rules such as a stop), usually at longer pulls on the 1, 2 or even 3-foot pit in which you run your auto mechanics, and exchanged the tires. If you have no idea about how much your car stand on the track without the exit of pit-stop, the easiest way would be to ask colleagues how - indicative - pits run races of this length and what the - approximate - usually choose the type of tires for the race . This is the easiest way, but preferably will be for you if you check it yourself during training. As a rule stint lasts from about 30 to 60 minutes, with short stinty (30 ') may pay only for those racing series in which the pit stop lasts particularly short (eg Formula 1). If you have a choice stint for example, 40-minute and 60-minute, try to practice this more. If in the last 20 minutes car ride will lead already so bad that you'll barely be able to stay on track, the race is likely you will need to choose a 40-minute ride. Practice so stinty 40-minute. Of course this is just an example. During the training stint will be important to keep equal pace, that your times will vary, but should not stand out from the other steps. Besides, during the training stint should become familiar with the volatility behavior of the car during the next minute drive - say about this in a moment.

The last type of training is the speed of the qualification exercise. Of course, if you have actually reached its peak during the learning track that's nothing new now I do not think of, but as a rule is so that when you exercise stint przejechałeś eg, 200 laps, then your rate is improved, so now you can see how much faster you can to go in qualifying - fueled car for several laps.

By the way it should be noted that such a sequence of training (learning the track, stint, qual) is recommended for really novice drivers. If you have already had a few starts in racing league, you should be more "militant" to fight for the lap time and car setup some work before wyćwiczysz in the automatism while driving stint. The thing is that if you get used to riding in a pace, or you will not be too willing to experiment just before the race, or did not notice that the car tells you where you lose time and could go better. Of course, a very experienced riders in the amount and mode of training can be quite different from what is shown above, but - as we said in the introduction - here we give advice to novice drivers.

Repeatability 3.2 times

A good indicator of the preparation for the race driver's lap times are, and more specifically their repeatability. If you can ride about 7-10 laps in a row, turning in times that differ from each other (the worst of the best) about 1%, this means that you drive quite confident. For example, one percent of the difference between the time of 1:30.0 and 1:30.9. It is difficult to give exact figures, but I would risk to say that 2%, the limit of decency for a novice when it comes to spreading time. 2% of the difference between 1:30.0 and 1:31.8 times. The large dispersion of time (> 2%) indicates that during the journey you had more or less "adventures", the ride uncomfortable. So judge yourself by training just for repetition times. As long as she is poor, so long will constitute a potential danger to other drivers on the track and the best ride another 100 laps to improve.

3.3 Variability of times during the stint

In assessing the times you have to remember that if a long presence on the track next lap times usually are arranged in a repetitive "pattern." This formula should notice provided for practicing for the race stint. In assessing its reproducibility should somewhat dry filter number.

The first lap is usually substantially slower than the others. This is either due to insufficient warm-up tires on the out lap, or simply because the driver is not accustomed to the heavy fuel from the car and drove a little asekuracyjnie. Successive lap times should either oscillate around a constant value or may gradually and slightly to improve, to reach a minimum around 1/3...2/3 stint. The final lap will be getting slower and, depending on the length of time stint could rise to about 101-102% of the fastest period of time stint. The described effect is the result of two factors: tire wear and fuel consumption. Ask a deterioration at the end of time should give driver's Stint think. It should consider whether it is worth to go for a race on the pit-stop for more than originally planned. This can be quite accurately calculated, namely, whether riding for example, 2-foot pit in total will be faster than driving to a stop, but it must be emphasized that driving on worn tires is difficult and risky (in addition to being free) and much better comes out experienced players than beginners. Of course, the driver decides whether to take such a risk, but remember that the end of the stint on the heavily worn tires during the real race may be subjectively more difficult to drive than during practice offline.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
3.4 Training for certification

If you are preparing for certification, then you'll be driving a car fueled on only a few laps. In this case, the lap times should be very similar as a determinant of the extent of your preparation time may be the first or first and second lap. If you can ride them in the perfect (for you) pace, in other words, if you do not have to ride around in circles for 15 minutes to finally pass perfectly, then you can be happy. Remember also to limit the number of laps in qualifying, if it exists in your league. If you want to finally see how fast you go skiing, do as many laps trips as you can go in a real qualifying.

3.5 The rate of driving

We told about the most important determinant of preparation for the race, which is the repetition time, however, not been said about the same rate. It turns out that in general the safety of other less important is whether you're making great time, average, or bad, although there may appear a problem.

On the one hand, driving extremely slowly poses some danger, such as the duplication, but indicative, say that if your times are within approximately 106% of the time, the fastest drivers, or approximately 103% of the time wykręcanego by many drivers from the midfield, then Your pace should not be a big problem for others.

On the other hand - although it's much rarer case in the beginning - we drive too fast, but there is enough to control the repeatability of time. If it is weak, it seems we can not manage well enough with the car, probably to go so fast. True, it depends on the driver's decision to impose the pace in the race, but it is fair to say that so far in qualifying ride exaggerated with a little luck you may pay as much in the race usually ends in a broken down car, or at best, repetitive the spins, excursions off the track, etc. In the end, you may even find that the faster we'd be going slower at the finish line! One must be aware of this.

3.6 Setup

Another part of preparation for the race car is the appropriate setting. Unfortunately, this element is probably the biggest problem beginners simracerów. In modern simulators of "screws" which we can turn on the car varies, indicatively, from 20 to 50 To make matters worse, many of the screws does not manifest while driving effect. Many great players openly say that their strength is primarily a very good "reading" behavior of the car and know which settings to change to get a particular effect, and only the background is in their ability to fast driving. Describing the secrets of racing mechanics would take a whole book, indeed I have too little knowledge to argue about it objectively. Usually, that simracer gradually discovers the secrets of the car setup, which explores the characteristics of settings that give the car etc.

Fortunately for beginners, the problem is known and many organizations have their base simracingowych setupów, which can be downloaded from the website. As a rule, just for those trying their hand setupach novice drivers. It is best when we have a choice of several setupów, but it is very important here not to judge setupów early to know the track. As long as it is the main driver, "perpetrator" weak times, until it will not be able to accurately select the setup. First, learning the track, then select setup. Ironically, the very young experience simracerzy tend to disregard this advice and most of them are firmly convinced that the fault of poor setup times and not themselves. Sometimes this actually happens (quite rare and mostly in a very "technical" series like Formula 1, etc.), but most often it interferes Car driver in getting the good times, not a car driver. The problem probably is that a man unconsciously defends himself against the idea that he is able enough, that's not such a "champion" as he thought, etc. I mention this so that you (Young Simracerze) was prepared for a situation where you ask an older colleague about the setup experience, and he asks you: "And what times you shoot?". If you specify the time by 10 seconds worse than typical for a given track, then do not be surprised if the friend responds: "It's exercise, not a K, a set in". Colleague that you will then inflated buffoon ("The Great I Senna found himself"), when in fact give you the best advice in this situation.

To learn the track early enough to really default setup for the track. Almost every simulator such setups they are - for each track, along with a simulator which we obtain from the manufacturer. Just in this set primarily setupie steering lock, then more or less choose to characterize the aero downforce track, different gear ratios, and possibly reduce brake pressure if too often blocking the wheels. If you drive after such surgery by 10 seconds too slow, it is probably at least 7-8 of those 10 seconds, it's your work, not a setup.

If you decide to setup ready, the best advice is probably the choice (of several) such that is easiest to ride you. This will allow for as smooth passing in a decent race pace. Setups very aggressive - when the car is carried out is hard, not really suitable for novices. Can possibly be tempted to start with such a setup in qualifying, while the race is better to choose something gentler, with which we will give you good advice for several laps.

Prepare two setups - one for qualifying, second in the race. For example, add to the file name beginning with "Q" for a set qualowego and "R" for a set for the race. The files should have the name to easily distinguish it and find the setupów trial for other cars, etc. A mistake in choosing the setup you might end up sad.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
3.7 Setup for rain

Another issue is the variable weather and say the word. If the simulator has a function of the variable weather, it can happen that you will need to change the setup before the "dry" to rain. This situation can happen during a race or just prior to takeoff, if the weather per session "Race" is chosen randomly by the server. In both cases, you will have very little time to decide. Specifically, in the first 1-2 laps, because so much takes Namakani track and the car stops on dry tires stick to the asphalt in the second and less than 2 minutes, because so much time usually lasts from the beginning of the session countdown to the actual race start. You have to quickly choose the right tires, and if it started raining before the start of the race, you can also reduce brake pressure, increase slightly aero downforce, etc. The proposal is therefore such that you should either have a separate setup prepared for rain (except that the uneven rain rain! ) or know what settings to change and if that resulted in the car as well in the rain. You can even write it on the sheet.

If rain falls during the race, you can usually only change the tires on a forced pit stop, or move the aero downforce. So also in this situation you need to know in advance what changes should be made. Of course, rain could over time increase or diminish, which can not be predicted, but having a general idea about the strength of the rain which falls at this time, you should be with a small margin of error to be able to choose the right tire. For example, for a little rain - intermediate tires, on average, and heavy rain - rain tires (and what - ordinary, or "monsoon," Hard or soft?).

To get an idea of how the car runs with varying degrees of rainfall for each type of tire, of course, you have to practice offline. Most simulators can choose weather to train online - take advantage of this opportunity and practice fine rain first, then larger, until finally a solid downpour. During these tests also pay attention to the track and air temperature. The latter, along with the rain effect with some delay (or rather inertia) on the first. Sometimes the choice of tires are hard and soft rain with the same tread. Observe how the tire is doing soft at high temperatures, or do not have a tendency to overheat? If so, change the tires on hard (all the time talking about wets) and check whether the situation has improved. At what temperature limit hard tires are better than soft? How many laps can withstand such a soft rain tires just below the temperature limit? At what minimum temperature of hard tires are suitable for driving at all? The more answers to such questions will find, the easier you will choose the correct tire for rainy race. All the best to write down their observations - it is unlikely that you remember in detail the results of their tests.

As a consolation to say that this type of testing tires for the rain, though laborious, can be performed on any of the track and generally, what we learn during those tests will apply with minor deviations for each different track.

3.8 Online Training

Regardless of the amount of time spent on preparation online, you may want to participate in online training before the race, unless of course they are organized in your league. Online training allows you to learn to ride "in crowd" at the track and helps to gain an idea of the good and bad places to overtake. Warn against drawing at the same time this type of applications based on such test online races with AI. Over the years, AI is getting better in games, but at the moment, as I write this, still clearly differs from the behavior of a real, live opponent. Therefore, learning to overtake so the AI usually will give us nothing (or little) and even can learn bad habits that revenge in the league race, with people. Only the very young drivers driving with AI may slightly help with basic habit formation may (emphasize: very basic!), But then it's time for some modification of these habits during the struggle with real drivers. Therefore, it is a valuable online training. Valuable also are several other reasons. First, it can be to take a look what our competitors spin times and how to ride - where they inhibit that line lean into corners, etc. On the basis of "spying" better you can really learn a lot. Second, online training usually consists of two parts. In the first lap just train. In the second controller switches on the qual session, and followed by warm-up, the countdown to launch, FL, etc. - often by the same rules as the league race. This allows novice can become familiar with the "regime" session, which will be operated in real race.

In the end, you should find time for at least two online training sessions before the race, and quite a novice driver shall participate in any training - if the only time he allows it. Online you learn faster!

We assume that you're making now stable (repeatable) times, you have a prepared set qualowy and racing, you have an idea of how to set the car in case of rain, "objeździłeś" with people on online training. If so, you can say that in terms of sport you're ready to race.

4th Before you enter the SERVER

Before you connect to a server on race day, you still care about a few technical issues.

4.1 Rest before the race

Now we write the obvious, but as I said in the introduction, guided me to think that it is better to write even truisms, than to write too little.

Generally, the longer you want to race their cars faster and more enemies on the track, the more it will be painful - especially your first race of his career simracingowej. Therefore, we recommend you arrange classes in your home / school / work, so on race day to be refreshed (if possible, of course). Generally, the rules are the same as before the exam in college, a difficult class test in school, etc. It is worth to sleep soundly and not occupy too burdensome work. I do not recommend the convict training on race day, you better take a break from driving, moreover, such training "for five to twelve," in haste and panic, can bring no effect or even counterproductive - driving can impair, spoil the setup, etc. It sounds incredible , but it happens. Another issue (and another fairly obvious) is the overall physical condition. A man accustomed to physical exertion, such as doing sports, well endure hardships particularly strenuous race. A man with poor general condition, in addition to severe hangover and little sleep, wasted race to fight his own weakness, not rivals. Since the alcohol in question, it is not a good idea to participate in particularly hard zakrapianej event on the eve of the race, which many (not excluding me) has learned the hard way. Kac, whether a state of "general weakness poalkoholowego" substantially prevents ride, and even if you force someone very brave to take off, it turns out that you are riding badly - hesitantly, slowly, without concentration and over the next lap the situation could worsen. The event was better so reload the evening after the race - by the way you will be able to celebrate their sporting successes!
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
4.2 Current files

Depending on the speed of your Internet connection, an early check on the website of your league, whether there are any new files, which will require the server to your computer league. They may be new drivers skins, sometimes modified version of the track, etc. Read all communications division administrator, and follow them. Perhaps the rules changed, the password to the server, etc. Do not be surprised.

4.3 Stability links

While the quality of Internet connection on race day we do not have much effect, as if we had enough problems already - disconnecty (so-called "disco"), lag, etc. - you might want to look for causes and remove them. Sometimes the only effective way is to change ISPs, but often creates a bad problem running a firewall, maybe the power plug on the router or modem poorly, "meets" and thus accidentally occurring in the disco? Potential causes are a dime a dozen. In case of difficulty consult your colleagues - other simracerów best, because they know the specific characteristics of the simulator, its specific "disease", which in some cases may improve the diagnosis of the problem. Of course, first check out any potential cause of yourself, then ask for help.

4.4 Stability of the computer

General rule is to maintain order and relieve the computer processor / memory, etc. before the start. Let me give you some general tips to help avoid trouble (though no guarantee of success):

Kill all the auto-updatery and others working in the background and unnecessary processes. After installation, many programs run at startup is a small program that for example once per hour checks for a new version of software installed. Sometimes, the auto-updater bit "Przytyk" link at the time of activation or in any way burden the computer (CPU time, RAM, if we have it a little) and that's enough - in a race simulator can we jam at second, and wake up at or trunk of a rival gang. Better not to tempt fate! On the other hand - I will, for example - a computer dictionary English-Polish install some kind of monitor. When you select any word in any application, you could press the keyboard shortcut and run the monitor from the dictionary immediately displayed password. This process (the monitor), is an excellent candidate for the kill. After each installation of the new program should check the list of processes, no new - ie, in the course, when the main application is not running. If it were this far, you should make a list and kill processes by. You can also use one of the programs that will do this for you automatically.

If long worked / played on the computer, ran a number of applications, better restart system. Sometimes the system has problems with the dismissal of memory (or maybe it's programs?).

Many experienced simracerów advise turning off any antivirus programs (which, incidentally, also work in the background) and the firewall.

Do not let excessive fragmentation of files on the disk. From time to time, use the defragmentation program to disk heads do not have to jump too far for reading a single file. It happens that the disk simulator doczytuje cloudy sky texture for example, if during the race it looks like the rain. Better to read it smoothly!

Do not run any unnecessary during the race programs (ICQ, Skype, email, web, etc.). Launched in principle it should be only a simulator, and possibly voice communication program, if you use it to communicate with your team a second driver, team manager, etc.

4.5 Stability of hardware simracingowego

You must also ensure that the steering wheel that was very solidly screwed to the desk and the chair and the pedals are not traveled across the floor. Appropriate technical solutions have come up before, now just make sure everything works as it should.

4.6 The relevant conditions in the room

Another portion of truisms, but many people "nacięło" on the matters described below.
First, turn off your phone - it's the best advice! Relatively your phone you can entrust a trusted person - let it receives, but explain the reasons why you are willing to break the race (for example, fire, war). Do not invite guests, especially if a person willingly and without any announcement you like to visit, use the maneuver ahead and say that you'll be busy. Ask your wife to take up children, and children - as long as it is likely to be successful - to the problems we ran into you and not struggled with leg if necessary physiological or out of boredom.

If the race starts the day (ie on the real - is clearly outside the window), and ends when the sun no longer occurs, light the light in the room before the start.

Ventilate the room, you'll have for a long time to maintain a high concentration, and brain, in addition to glucose, oxygen feeds. Do not leave windows wide open, however. If rain comes on the dance floor and starts to create a puddle, who closes?

These very simple steps one could give more, but in terms of general principle. Make sure that no one or nothing disturb you during the race - will be "glued" to the chair for an hour or two and even the slightest folly of what you forget, can force you to withdraw from the race. Is it enough trained to collapse when the race call grandma and ask if you bake apple pie on Sunday?

4.7 Physiology

Here you also write about things so obvious that - within the obvious - many a time even if the driver ignored them and hindered their own lives.

If the races where you start, take a long pit stops or other reasons are moments of respite from driving, then prepare yourself something to drink - bottled water is best. If you start in the league F1, it is unlikely you will have the opportunity to sip on the route, so before you start to take care of satisfying desires. I advise you not to drink coffee before the race, because it is a diuretic. Similarly, beer. Most people do not like when you drive them in my stomach growl, so you better eat something specific. We must be aware that despite appearances digestion is highly energy intensive activity, so you do not cram just before the race. If someone does not believe me, it is sufficient to remind ourselves why the camps / colonies educators for children etc. shall ensure that the dip in the lake in front of children odczekały at least an hour after the last meal - can lead to fainting! In the race, probably not in danger of fainting, but it is nice to know that 100% of our energy goes into keeping a great pace on the track and not wasting that 50% of unfolding and tasty salads ziemniaczka into prime factors.

A very important issue (really!) Is a settlement of physiological needs. In fact, after the qualifying session no longer has time to jump out to the toilet and relieve himself without a panic rush. Needless to say that torture is such a 2-hour race, when after 15 minutes from the start we realize that we forgot something. Not only that physical pleasure is questionable (not for masochists), then for good measure any physical ailment of the nature of your concentration. For the same reason it is worth a moment to think about what it is for dinner. If, for example, our intestines react very vigorously on sauerkraut, then I suggest it simply does not eat.

All the issues discussed here seem ridiculous and irrelevant, but cease to be funny when befall us in the race. Then the man does not want to laugh, as it is furious that he could not concentrate on driving.

5th ENTRY IN THE SERVER AND TRAINING SESSION

When you connect to the server, check whether the simulator does not report non-compliance files. If everything is OK, get in the car and still in the box, verify that the buttons on the steering wheel, gear lever, pedals and steering wheel itself working properly. If everything is OK, leave the track and take a little warm. By the way, if you check the fps-s. In fact, you should be enough and passing a few laps to make sure that you are able to remove previously trained time - more or less. If time is clearly worse, check the weather - perhaps this is the cause, check the setup - if loaded right? If everything is OK and you drive slower anyway, what - maybe a weaker day? Cross the next few laps and try wjeździć the track. We strongly advise against nerves here, that on such an occasion may arise immediately. There's no panic - it may be a temporary indisposition and not very well fall out in qualifying, but the race is usually a man grabs the automatism and the problems will disappear. Besides, it is often too so that when you hang over your head whip - start the true qualifications (not warm) - it will allocate the appropriate dose of adrenaline, the concentration will come alone and wykręcisz a good time. If you fear that you will be tentatively conducted early in the race, just take the little cautious laps 1-2. Land, you were not upset beyond measure "because something is not right" - Panic at the wheel, is a guarantee of failure.

6th QUALIFICATIONS

I will not give here winning recipe for PP, because that simply does not exist. I will say only a few things that the driver should keep in mind during Qual.

6.1 Setup qualowy

Do not forget to load the previously setup on the qual! If weather in qualifying you surprised, you are sure you know the training, what changes to make in the setup, to lead a good car. If it's hot, you should know what the hardness of the tires is right. If it rains - is discussed in the section "Training". If pokpiłeś training and do not know what to change and the number of trips eligibility is limited to such one - poległeś, guess what changes in a set made and pray.

It is worth mentioning the cooling of the engine. If during the qualifying session is much warmer than during your workouts online, you need to consider whether or not you need to increase cooling. Of course, this type of maneuvers - how much cooling of temperature - you should have rehearsed offline. The test results you can write on a piece in the form of a table such as the guide and then just use her. Remember that heating of the motor also depends on the configuration of the track. Particularly damaging are the long straights, where you hold the gas in the floor and the engine running for a long time near the maximum speed. If you want to have in the future, a safe margin of error, it is best to your table when you make a test on just such a "harmful" path (eg, Monza, Le Mans). The table placed at Monza is almost certainly no amendments will give the tortuous path (eg, Oschersleben). If, for example, at Monza with air at 32 ° C was sufficient cooling at "3", then at Oschersleben in the dark you can assume that the cooling of the "3" at 32 ° C well enough.

The case is quite important, because if you start in the qualifying draw along a trail of smoke, then ruin measuring lap drivers who will be behind you. Perhaps in your league rules provide for penalties for Sport in this situation, but even if you do not, know that your ride with a smoking engine arouse great emotions in others (to put it mildly!).

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
6.2 Lap away

Royalty, it seems, but here you can give some advice. Generally on the out lap you have to take care of three things:

1st Be "invisible" to drivers riding his lap test.
Even before leaving the pit lane, you have to realize that the track is likely to find other players and potentially each of them can just go test lap. Im in a hurry, you still do not. The point now is that you in any way did not prevent them, not pulled up the road, not blocking them behind. First, it requires the rule of fair play, but beyond that this is also in your interest - for measuring lap where you should enter alone, not surrounded by five cars, especially when their drivers are clearly slower or faster than you. As they say the driver: you have to develop a "slow lane" in front of him and behind him the best.

How not to disturb? Well, this person learns as experience is gained, but the rules are generally the same as the mirror - read the chapter Fri "Mirroring". The only difference is that on the out lap of the driver usually been "running away" from the back of an oncoming car - the point is that the rear did not have to wait until we let go of him, only to remove him out of the way without slowing it down or to fraction of a second. You can generally say that if the car behind you at any time you sat directly "on the bumper," it kept the bad - spowolniłeś it. Of course you should not also exaggerate the other side, go in the bushes, stand 5 minutes on the roadside, etc. - the less takes away your lap, the less people have a chance to "stick" on you during. Ideally, you should go to the track having a large distance from the back of the car and drive fast enough so you do not catch up. But to complicate matters, if you hit yourself on a straggler and slowing down, trying to work out a piece of free track. Well, some of the questions there is no simple answer and much depends not only feel, but also luck.

2nd Preheat the car (tires, brakes, engine) to the optimum temperature.
The pace on the out lap is particularly important when the rules of your league in a very limited number of allowed laps that you can ride on qualu. For example, in the league in 2007 SimRacingPL GTR2 could ride only 2 laps measured. In this case, it is very important to bring the car to optimum performance, before we enter on the first lap measurement. Generally it comes to the temperature of the tires, brakes, temperature, and in some racing series (and simulators) may also be appropriate temperature oil.

The brakes should not be a problem - passing in a fast pace as the laps exit should be enough. Alternatively, you can overheat the brakes slightly before the last corner, so under braking for T1 at the first measurement brakes have a warmer than usual (of course assuming that they are usually too cold).

The trouble may occur with the tires. If it is hot, maybe you should drive more slowly - if you are concerned that the tires can overheat in one lap. Then you may pay to start with tires measuring lap up a little niedogrzanymi and ending it with a little przegrzanymi. If the track is cool, it is usually the only reasonable solution is to ride as soon as possible. If it was not enough, you can try to "burn rubber", but make sure that in your league is allowed and that for you, no one there. Smoke from the tires can "cut" a player behind you computer and / or it may scare him - distract. He may think that someone at the exit of turn, in which just enters zaspinował (hence the smoke) and stands in the middle of the track. It's better to wait to burn tires until you are actually on the track itself. Of course you do not need to add that in the course of determining the temperature of the tires, it should be monitored (if the car / simulator is suitable display). Reheating tires "on the eye '(without Preview temperatures) is a task much more difficult and requires a good knowledge of the car, and even then it's not hard to mistake.

We can adjust the temperature of engine RPM and speed. The higher the turnover, the faster the engine warms up, the slower we go, the less cooling the engine. Appropriate tactics depend on the out lap so it will be on whether we are afraid that the engine is too cool for timed lap, or rather overheated. In the latter case, of course, suspect that the engine cooling we set too low, but about the danger, already mentioned. In conclusion, let us add, that unless the vast majority of racing series, the engine - with adequate setupie - at the time of entry into the lap will be measuring the correct temperature. There will be neither overheated nor particularly cold, so usually no need for it at all worried.

3rd Wise to turn defeat before the line S / F.
Between any two laps of measurement - whether in qualifying, or later in the race - we will overcome all the turns in the best as far as possible online. It is by definition the fastest way. Otherwise, however, may be the case for measuring the first lap!
Depending on the configuration of the track, you may pay a maximum extension of the last corner on the track and possibly "break" him and ride on the "late apex." Theoretically, this maneuver guarantees of success when we start out with a turn (ie, gas pressure) at a speed not lower than normal and - the second condition - we are at this point further away from the line S / F than normal. Then we cross the line at higher speed and therefore Urwa a split second to getting to T1.

In Figure 2 shows an example configuration of the last bend, at which this type of maneuver usually works - a very large return.

Figure 2 Possible scenarios for entry into the first lap measurement.

Unfortunately, the theory is one thing and practice - what else. First, grip the track in place, after which usually does not drive, can be smaller (dirt, etc.). If the car poorly kept there, it is probably not worth trying this trick - you can ruin zaspinować and his first test lap, or you can not accelerate rapidly enough and the whole action will not pay off. Second, on many tracks last corner configuration will create a problem with the speed at the point of "1" - it will be clearly smaller than normal. Additionally, the deceleration effect "level break" turn. The more you break it, the slower you drive in "1". On the other hand you can then (potentially) to accelerate rapidly, as it will accelerate in an arc of larger radius than the red line (from point "2").

As you can see, the matter is not entirely clear, because during training you can see what the line of travel gives you the most speed on the line S / F. If this is not a standard best line is sure to slightly earlier braking for T1, if you are driving faster than usual! With this kind of tests you can help your program for the analysis of telemetry data (eg motec), if the simulator saves the data. Best to check the line speed S / F.

If you do not see the difference in the times, it is best to pass on that this kind of combinations and take the last corner standard. In this case, the order of, say only that when the last lap exit turn has an effect on the first lap time measurement, we must pass it now for 100% of our capabilities. Not zaśpij - the penultimate turn now give full gas and driving the pace qualowym!
+++++++++++++++++++++++
8th COUNTDOWN TO THE START TO FL

If you are in your league does not have FL, most of the comments posted here relates to the proper launch countdown.
Immediately after the end of warm-up, the simulator starts the countdown timer to start. Depending on the simulator and server settings, this time may vary a little, but it is always short - for example, 2 minutes.

If you have not done so already, now make sure you have the proper setup loaded. If it is, and the weather fits this setup - just go to the track. Things get complicated when it turns out that for example, it started raining. Time flies - you have 2 minutes - and the need to change the setup! The only way to avoid a heart attack in this situation is a lot of prior preparation for such an eventuality (setup to rain or a list of changes in set racing to be done). We talked about this in the section which deals with training.

If your league in the grid need to get yourself, it's not zaśpij - Leave in advance, taking into account the fact that the lap away can be even approximately 40-50 seconds longer than normal - due to leave the pit lane, the slower pace, very free directions to the grid (and possibly fixes car set), plus at least 10 seconds slack off. In some simulators, when you click, we find ourselves at once on the grid in place.

When you stand on the grid, you can try steering wheel, gas pedal and brake pedal - if everything works as it should.

If the count refers to "severe" the start (to the race, not FL), then be careful with the clutch and gears - if you move on the grid, in some simulators, you can get a penalty, ie, the simulator can consider this as a false start. Usually, however, false start detection is disabled until you start and if you went against your pole, then you can go back to them. Do not wait with this, however, until the last minute!

If you start counting relates to FL, the simulators do not usually detect false starts.

During the trial steering wheel / pedals - if you decide to carry them out - always watch the clock, countdown to the start. The problem with the clock in most simulators is that if the grid will have all the drivers, the countdown stops and start to FL to begin immediately - not zaśpij!
The best early set on the grid, try the wheel quickly and quietly wait, watching the clock.

10th START

First of all, regardless of the type of start (volatile / stopped), even before the race, make sure you know how in the simulator and on the track start is signaled. There may be surprises here.

Assume that the start is signaled by, among others audible alarm (sirens suspended above or beside the track). With a little luck you may find that you set in the options by simulation the maximum number of sounds played at a time is set lower than the number of competing athletes, while queues simulator engine sounds higher than your opponents start a mermaid! In this case, right now - at the start of a real race, the siren will not be played on your computer (though during training the siren always work!).

Another surprise may be light. There are tracks where the lights are hung a few yards behind the line of S / F and are not duplicated the next traffic lights before the finish. If the grid is particularly long and in addition you have the monitor set at a fairly low resolution, you may find that the green light on your PC becomes a single green pixel, you will not notice. You should be prepared for it - if you can not see clearly the red lights (if any are hanging above the track), it probably will not notice a green light. Ideally, you should check lights offline (obviously on the same track where the race will be held) - Set a large number of AI opponents and start from last position and look at where the lights are and how well it can be seen. If your league starts in 30 players for example, see if the P30 can be seen first (most distant) light at the track - if so, there will be no problem regardless of the position that you get in qualifying. But what if the lights do not actually see? In most simulators, I know you can save a display showing the lap time. As a rule, before the start of the display is "empty", ie, displays or shows such "-:--.---" time "0:00.000". At the time of the start time to display the "start", so that use the display.

Some simulators also inform the clash in the form of some kind of graphics - such as at the top of the screen appears a window where the lights are shown starting at high magnification on the screen or appear in succession the numbers "3 .. 2 .. 1 .. START. " In this case, if we are not an outstanding unit, the start rather not miss.

Further comments were divided into rolling start and stop. If you are in your league is made flying start, it will be sure to read the description of a standing start!

10.1 Home detention

Home detention and subsequent entry into T1 is definitely the most dangerous moment of the race. False start will be penalized by most simulators automatically. Late with the launch could end up collisions. To make matters worse, if you have a fairly slow machine, it is the smoke from the tires prior to the car you not only blind you to view, but also can cause a large drop in the number of frames displayed per second (fps). As almost always leads to accidents, the latter possibility should eliminate the practice, reducing enough detail in the graphics options. Remember when that online horse always eats more frames than offline, so best to check the quality start during training online with a large number of drivers on the grid.
About the same starting technique (gas, clutch, etc.) do not say too much because we are not here to drive a racing technique. Instead, we can say about the most common dangers of taking off and getting to T1.

++++++++++++++++++++++++
10.3 Start of the pit-lane

If for some reason you start the race from pit lane (you're late to the grid, etc.) then you must wait until the red light goes off. Sometimes it takes a long time, you will have the impression that an eternity, but I do not think that the simulator is "broken" (not broke). Leaving the pit lane at a red light during a race will automatically result in disqualification (DQ)!

If we can happily wade through all the phases described here, and prior to the race start and first lap, the track is already before us open. It remains only a few laps to pass the best rate and on the way to defeat all opponents. Trifle. Then, after winning a race you can now paint your name on the track with rubber tires (yeah, yeah - if regulations allows it, "make sure it looks like in your league,"
